Hacking Of EderFan - Resolved

Hello All!

Boy what a day it has been. What a rare mood I'm in ...

I'm in the mood to kill! Just kidding.

I want to thank all of the great people at HostGator that spent the day with me resolving what I thought was one but in fact turned out to be multiple hack intrusions of the site.

The first was an individual using a security breach in the old guestbook to access the back end of the server.

The second was much worse - they were building websites with links to viruses on other severs, and then emailing that address on-mass.

Fortunately the creator of the chat script had an upgrade for me and we were not only able to resolve that issue, but the chat is in fact faster and can handle more of a user load!

Silver lining I guess.

Please know that your security when visiting EderFan.com is vital to me. I would close it down before I let it threaten any user. However, as I mentioned before, you could not be hurt by just visiting in this scenario, you would have had to be the recipient of that email, and then have followed the link.

BUT! All better

I will be in the chat for the remainder of the night to test its new powers, and to monitor the site - feel free to pop in and say hi, but if I don't respond night away I may be at the stove or the laundry I will try to remember to use the away/back button to let you know if I have stepped out.
